Overview This position will be physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP. Under the supervision of the Facility Inspection Supervisor, performs initial, in-progress, and final inspections on various types of military, commercial, and other forms of Utilities and Special Purpose equipment, Power-Generation equipment, Quartermaster and Chemical equipment, and Construction equipment. Makes proper classification determinations as it pertains to U.S. Government property. Assists Shops as needed with Troubleshooting processes. Uses proper Test Measurement and Diagnostics Equipment (TMDE) in the daily operations phase. Tests and troubleshoots all forms of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) Systems. Conducts Actual Cost of Damages (ACOD), Estimated Cost of Damages (ECOD), Estimated Cost of Repairs (ECOR), and Estimated Cost of Fabrication (ECOF). Conducts tests on serviced, repaired, and overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency before returning to the customer. Understands the automotive repair shop equipment and functions in order to provide assistance and coverage whenever needed. Performs technical research and ensures operational readiness of assigned equipment. 8+ years of experience performing maintenance services and overhaul of Combat Tactical Engineering, Power Generation, and Ancillary Support equipment at the Mechanic or Inspector level. Responsibilities
- Perform technical research and ensure operational readiness of assigned equipment.
- Perform initial, in-progress, and final inspections on various types of military, commercial, and other forms of Utilities and Special Purpose equipment, Power-Generation equipment, Quartermaster and Chemical equipment, and Construction equipment.
- Use proper Test Measurement and Diagnostics Equipment (TMDE) in the daily operations phase.
- Test and troubleshoot all forms of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) Systems. Conduct Actual Cost of Damages (ACOD), Estimated Cost of Damages (ECOD), Estimated Cost of Repairs (ECOR), and Estimated Cost of Fabrication (ECOF).
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Technical certification or associate degree as an HVAC technician or a related field.
- Must provide a copy of the diploma.
- Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).
- A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a host nation driver's license.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical maintenance or a related field.
- Skills:
- HVAC Technician Certification or have completed the Residential and Light Commercial Industry Competency Exams (ICE) and the EPA 608 (Type 1 and 2) & 609 certifications.
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications in the automotive maintenance area preferred.
- Working Conditions:
- Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, dusty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).
- Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
- Physical Requirements:
- Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
- Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
- Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
