Assistant Manager - Fabrication

Key Accountabilities
Supervise the day-to-day operations of all the Fabrication Department to ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established policies, processes and procedures.
Substituting the Fabrication Department Manager during his absence, when appointed so.
Analysis of job specifications, pre-planning of priorities, establish production objectives, schedules to ensure timely delivery of all project undertaken with required quality and safety standards.
Evaluate the resource loading for Fabrication work across NB segments, ship repair and Conversion.
Random inspection of worksite in order to make sure the optimum utilization of available resources.
Control and coordinate with all sections for smooth operation of the department.
Approve Material Requisitions.
Discipline employees, according to the disciplinary procedure, whose behavior contravenes disciplinary code.
Planning and controlling advance fabrication.
Ensure field reports are done timely and with good justify.
Support Commercial Department during bid stage when requested by Department Manager.
Experience/Qualification & Skill
Degree or equivalent in relevant field
10 years working experience in Ship yard with conversion and new building facilities with a minimum of 2 years as functional head.
Knowledge and experience in a shipyard or offshore construction facility with vessel conversion and fabrication capability.
Experience in a similar position in a reputable shipyard or an offshore fabrication facility.
Familiar with technical terms related to offshore and new construction activities.
Good steel fabrication and welding knowledge.
Strong background with resolution of technical issues during projects planning and execution phases.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
