KONE Middle East, Turkey & Africa (KMTA) is embarking upon an exciting growth phase through direct presence across 7 regions to complement our growth plans and drive our sustainable success with customer strategy. We are looking for a qualified and experienced Financial Controller to be based in our Salmiya - Kuwait office. The Financial Controller ensures the legal entity's financial reporting is prepared in a timely manner in accordance with both KONE Accounting Standards and statutory requirements. He/She is a resource that develops, enhances, and strengthens financial process simplification, harmonization, and automation. He/she has specialized finance competence (treasury, tax) and supports and provides analysis to the business regarding financial performance. The Financial Controller serves as a specialized and supporting contact point for finance partners and auditors. In addition, it supports the implementation of global finance processes in the unit. Responsibilities and key activities:
- Perform detailed checks that all defined tasks in the month-end closing process are executed by finance operations partner(s) and KONE Business Services (KBS).
- Ensure that all financial close activities have been completed.
- Prepare/approve relevant judgmental journal entries. Ensure that supporting documentation is provided by KONE Guidelines.
- Ensure that balance sheet reconciliations are completed in Blackline by finance operations partner(s) and are in accordance with the KONE balance reconciliation policy.
- Provide necessary analysis of periodic financial performance and balance sheet reviews and attend review meetings as required.
- Perform necessary local internal control activities and prepare relevant supporting documentation as required and defined by the global KONE internal controls framework.
- Prepare analysis and workings for statutory, audit, and tax reporting in accordance with the local legislation.
- Act as a back-up point of contact for local authorities.
- Support in ensuring that payment proposals are authorized. Prepare manual payment advice where necessary.
- Understand the impact of Global R2R transformation roadmap initiatives to own unit and support in creating local plan of implementation in line with globally agreed timelines.
- Prepare forecast FX exposure analysis for the Financial Controller.
- Act as a specialist in the field of treasury and tax.
- Advise businesses on bank guarantees, obtaining necessary approvals, and collecting back bank guarantees.
- Provide analysis of FX exposure and potential impacts for a unit and advise business in FX management in projects.
- At month-end, provide necessary analysis and support in summarizing legal entity financial results and performance and the balance sheet in cooperation with business controllers to validate completeness and accuracy of both financial and management reporting and forecasting.
- Experience as a Financial Controller and/or working in Big 4 audit firms.
- Working knowledge of SAP and CPM Beacon (SAP BPC) or similar applications.
- Knowledge of IFRS as well as local GAAP and other relevant local tax & legal requirements.
- Preferably a university degree in Finance or a relevant field.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong collaboration, coordination, and networking skills.
