• Carries out the design of allocated modifications (pressure vessel/piping) related to LNG production facilities and associated offsite. Ensures the design is to recognized industrial standards and codes (ASME Section VIII/B31.3 etc).• Carries out/reviews of equipment strength calculation as per ASME Section VIII and Mechanical data sheet. Reviews of General assembly drawing, Fabrication drawings, trays and internal detail drawing, support drawing.• Carries out factory acceptance tests for Vessels/Exchangers.• Experience in using software CAESAR II / PV-Elite/Compress software.• Carries out/reviews of piping design calculations, stress analysis etc.• Experience in pipe supports/spring support selection for piping systems.• Review of G.A. drawings/isometrics/equipment layout drawing, preparation of Bill of materials.• Carries out/reviews of piping material specification and valve data sheet.• Prepares the Statement of Requirement for contract documents and carries out technical evaluation of contracted out modifications including technical clarification to bidders through the Contracts Department.• Carries out the direct ordering and reservation from stock of all materials for the modifications, ensures materials comply with company standards and are correct specification for the duty. Performs technical evaluation of material bids (RFQ) including technical clarification to bidders through Procurement Department.• Identifies and applies for the availability of funds for modifications, materials, and ordering and contract placement in accordance with relevant ADGAS procedures.• Convenes and minutes the Definition of Requirements (scope understanding) meeting and ensures that all disciplines are represented.• Controls the engineering of modifications and liaises regularly with Operations and HSE Departments to ensure that the engineering design is acceptable to such user departments.• Liaises regularly with civil, structural, instrument, and electrical engineers within Engineering Division to cover the inter-disciplinary requirements for the modifications. Acts as the nucleus to ensure a complete integral package is assembled before distribution.• Responsible for collating, discussing, and resolving any comments or queries arising from the approval issue of the modification package.• Prepares the Hazop P&ID and introduces the proposal to Hazop committee for Hazard and Operability Study. Takes an active part in Hazop proceedings as mechanical specialist. Acts as secretary to the Hazop meetings in the absence of Senior Mechanical Engineer.• Prepares Hazop findings and HSE Review Committee modification overview for Plant Management appraisal. Introduces the proposal and describes the findings of Hazop Team to Plant Management at HSE Review Meetings.• Provides design and technical guidance to Senior Draughtsman and Draughtsman during the development phase of the modification. Carries out final checking and appraisal before signing documents as responsible Mechanical Engineer.• Defines the scope of each Division's involvement during procurement and construction and precommissioning phases of the modification.• Supervises and directs engineering, construction, and precommissioning contract staff during implementation of the modification.• Carries out precommissioning checks on the completed work to ensure the design is to original proposals. Continue to monitor modification from conception through to commissioning.• Reviews, comments, or designs Minor Changes initiated by Operations Department.• Assists in preparation of Annual Engineering report.• Participates in RCA for process/prepare failure/study report as necessary.Skill SetB. Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification. 7 years experience in the mechanical engineering field, including a minimum of 6 years in an engineering company or engineering department in a running plant in the gas processing, oil refining, or petrochemical industry with a good background on piping and vessels. Good spoken and written English. Computer literate.
