Senior Electrical Design Engineer- Electrical

**Experience**:
10-15 years of regional/international experience in the design of Building Services (Electrical). Experience with Qatar Gas and Qatar Petroleum is preferred.
We are looking for a team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills and excellent report-writing skills.
**Roles & Responsibilities**
- Design for MV and LV power systems.
- Design for Lighting / Lighting control systems.
- Design for cable tray/earthing/lightning protection systems.
- Performing Design Calculations. Developing study reports
- Being conversant with ETAP software and power management studies is essential.
- Electrical system design including but not limited to the design basis, load schedules, sizing calculations (equipment, cable, UPS, battery), experience with completing power system studies (short circuit, load flow, transient, motor starting and harmonic studies), relay settings, power adequacy, lighting/earthing/lightning protection deliverables, block & single line diagrams, electrical layouts (equipment, cable, tray, duct and trench), equipment specifications.
- Manage the electrical engineers and CAD technicians in the project(s), effectively reporting to the line manager/team leader on a daily basis in coordination with the project manager and other relevant disciplines as required.
- Strong knowledge and focus on the quality of design, review and take ownership of the deliverables produced, and ensure the design safety is followed in all projects, including identifying risks, mitigation, and design assumptions register updates.
- Preparation of technical specifications and design reports. Shall be conversant with the international codes as well as Local Codes and Utility Company regulations.
- Shall have experience of liaising with service providers agencies for obtaining NOCs and Design Approvals, etc.
- Leads, manages and coordinates the activities of all electrical engineering staff, and coordinates with the Discipline Lead.
- Serves as primary interface with the design consultants and construction contractor in performing design reviews or addressing construction-related issues related to the electrical systems.
- Flexible to work extra hours, including at odd time nights / weekends / holidays, etc. to finalize the tasks.
