Bachelor of Technology/Engineering, MBA/PG Diploma in Business MgmtNationalityAny NationalityVacancy1 VacancyJob Description Sustainability and ESG Senior ManagerJob Description:The Senior Sustainability & ESG Manager for NEOM Environment Authority will play a pivotal role in advancing the sustainability agenda and we are seeking a dynamic Sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Senior Manager to guide our efforts in implementing and managing robust sustainability initiatives. This position will report directly to the Sustainability Director and will require a robust sustainability and ESG background, coupled with a comprehensive understanding of environmental compliance, climate impact, circular economy, responsible procurement, and ESG reporting and disclosures.Key Accountability Areas:1. Circular Economy and Waste Management- Oversee the development of regulatory frameworks for NEOM s circular economy practices.- Develop and manage the implementation of strategies to promote circular economy principles, standards and guidelines for the Environment Authority.- Develop and manage waste reduction initiatives and recycling programs on behalf of the Environment Authority.- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and capitalize on waste-to-resource opportunities.- Monitor and report on waste management performance metrics.2. Decarbonization- Manage the decarbonization projects and carbon footprint reduction strategies for the Environment Authority.- Support the compliance and implementation of renewable energy solutions and energy efficiency measures.- Engage with cross-functional teams to integrate low-carbon technologies.- Conduct carbon audits and develop action plans to achieve carbon neutrality.3. Sustainable Built Environment- Oversee the development of regulatory frameworks for green building practices.- Ensure the efficacy of the Environment Authority s regulatory framework to manage sustainability certifications for new and existing structures.- Work with stakeholders across the regions and sectors of NEOM to incorporate sustainable design elements.- Monitor and report on the environmental impact of building projects.4. Responsible Procurement- Develop and manage the implementation of sustainable procurement policies, standards and guidelines.- Establish criteria for selecting environmentally responsible suppliers.- Integrate ESG factors into the procurement process.- Assess and manage supply chain sustainability risks.5. Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting- Communicate sustainability goals and progress to stakeholders across NEOM.- Support the development of sustainability reports and ESG disclosures.- Engage with external stakeholders, including NGOs and government entities to enhance and support the Environment Authority s scope, practices and deliverables.- Facilitate sustainability forums, workshops, and training sessions, as needed.6. Strategy Development and Implementation- Support the development of the company's sustainability and ESG strategy.- Align sustainability initiatives with business objectives.- Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes.- Manage budgets, resources, and consultancy contracts and teams for sustainability projects within the scope of this role.7. Team Leadership and Development- Where needed, lead and mentor a team of sustainability professionals.- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.- Ensure team alignment with organizational sustainability goals.- Evaluate team performance and provide regular feedback.Additional Responsibilities:- Provide ad-hoc support to the Sustainability Director as needed.- Utilize business accounting experience to manage departmental budgets and resource allocation.Required Experience and Qualifications:- Minimum of 10 years of experience in sustainability, ESG, or related roles, with a focus on circular economy, waste management, decarbonization, sustainable built environment, and responsible procurement.- Proven track record of managing large-scale sustainability projects.- Strong knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks and sustainability certifications.- Experience in conducting business in Saudi Arabia and knowledge of NEOM is a plus.Education and Certifications:Bachelor s or Master s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA and MSc is desirable.
