Identifies operational problems byobserving and studying system functioning and performance results;investigating complaints and suggestions; interviewing processsupervisors and operators; completing troubleshootingprocedures.Identifies operational prioritiesby assessing operational objectives; determining projectobjectives, such as, efficiency, cost savings, energy conservation,operator convenience, safety, environmental quality; estimatingrelevance, time, and costs.Developsoperational solutions by defining, studying, estimating, andscreening alternative solutions; calculating economics; determiningimpact on total system.Anticipates operationalproblems by studying operating targets, modes of operation, unitlimitations; monitoring unitperformance.Improves operational qualityresults by studying, evaluating, and recommending processre-design; implementing changes; contributing information andopinion to unit design and modificationteams.Maintains safe and healthy workenvironment by following and enforcing standards and procedures;complying with legal regulations.Providesoperational management information by collecting, analyzing, andsummarizing operating and engineering data andtrends.Updates job knowledge by participatingin educational opportunities; reading professional publications;maintaining personal networks; participating in professionalorganizations.Accomplishes engineering andorganization mission by completing related results asneeded.
