Director of Finance | Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group Dubai | Apply Now Responsibilities General: It is part of your role to understand and disseminate/communicate all corporate and hotel policies and standard operating procedures to the colleagues. MOHG Code of Conduct requires that all business activities and business decisions comply with the general law, and with all rules, regulations and other requirements. Hold monthly meetings with all colleagues to assure they have a forum to voice any concerns or challenges and share departmental and hotel information. You shall take all reasonable steps to safeguard stored information, and not divulge or otherwise transfer any personal data concerning the guests, customers or colleagues, or any confidential information concerning the hotel unless with the appropriate authority. Use of the hotel’s network, computers or internet access which is in the hotel’s view unreasonable or inappropriate, for example gambling, chatroom, or pornographic material, is a serious breach of hotel policy and grounds for summary dismissal. Support and adhere to all policies & procedures relating to Safe, Sound and Sustainable at Mandarin Oriental. Ensure to comply with the MOHG Social Media Policy, i.e. to be fully responsible for the content you publish on any social media platform, including your personal site. Act as a hotel ambassador at all times. To carry out any additional duties requested by management, related to hotel operational activities. Divisional: To direct, manage and support the development, implementation, maintenance and administration if all financial controls and accounting procedures, based upon a maximization of internal control techniques consistent with Group corporate management established policy and generally accepted accounting principles, as adapted to the requirements of the hotel’s management contract and other local legal requirements. To play an active role in the management of the hotel and to exercise a responsive attitude to the needs of the General Manager and other members of the hotel management team. To ensure compliance to terms and conditions of the hotel’s management contract, with particular regard to provisions relating to the company’s responsibilities as the managers and bringing any discrepancies to the immediate attention of the General Manager and group corporate management. To actively involved in the search for opportunities to improve the profitability of the hotel and encourage the preparation of exception reports and analyses to help meet and measure the success of this objective. To manage, supervise and support all subordinate employees, with a view to optimizing the profitability of the hotel and improving the guest experience. To initiate employee development and evaluation programs for all subordinate staff to ensure the highest level of professional competence and efficient continuity within those positions. To organize an efficient treasury function to provide proper management of the hotel’s working capital and cash flow in accordance with Group corporate management minimum guidelines and within the requirements of the hotel’s management contract. Also, to ensure excessive investment is not made in receivables or inventories and that sufficient liquidity is maintained to meet the hotel’s obligations. To be responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of the hotel’s computerized data processing function within the Group corporate management established guidelines. To ensure all financial reports, budgets, forecasts and other information required by Group corporate management are accurately compiled and submitted within the specified time limits, identifying variances and making recommendations for improvements as appropriate. To personally review forecasts and budgets prepared by hotel management to ensure the General manager and Group corporate management are kept fully apprised of any implications which may affect the performance of the hotel in meeting its financial objectives. To ensure adequate controls are installed and maintained for the protection of the hotel’s assets against loss or misappropriation. To ensure adequate insurance coverage is maintained to protect the assets of the hotel with particular regard to the requirements contained in the hotel’s management contract. Assume full responsibility for the proper control of all cash funds and other assets for subordinates. To establish a comprehensive credit and collection policy for the hotel based on good industry practice and within the guidelines provided by Group corporate management. Information Security Identify and regularly review the classification levels of all your information with your department. Ensure that the information and information security equipment assets under your control are secured as effectively as practically possible to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the information assets. Authorize user access to information under your control and remove access when it is no longer required. Communicate access control requirements to Information Security management and the information users. Monitor Information Policy compliance within your scope of authority. Detect and report Information Security incidents to the Information Security Officer and respond to any incidents that are reported. Safeguard the security of the company’s information and computing assets and comply with the implemented Information Security Policy and all practices and supporting procedures designed in accordance with the policy. Ensure accountability for your actions and recognize that any unauthorized deviation from the information security policy may result in disciplinary action including termination of employment and prosecution under the applicable UAE law.
