(Global Oil Gas) Senior Piping and Valves Engineer

Job Summary We are currently looking for a Piping and Valves Engineer to join the Global Manufacturing Support Department (GMSD). The GMSD is a diverse organization that interfaces with technical and, in some cases, business support requirements of the Domestic Refining & NGL Fractionation Admin Area and This Company Affiliates. Its primary function is to address the technical needs of Global Manufacturing, overseeing operating facilities management and driving operational excellence and value creation through the execution of corporate programs and initiatives. As a Piping and Valves Engineer, your main responsibility will be to provide technical support to operating facilities, projects, and technology deployment. You will also play a crucial role in developing new Piping and Valves Engineers, nurturing their talent and expertise. In addition, you will conduct special studies and analyses in specialized asset integrity fields. These areas may include conducting necessary mechanical calculations for piping, valves, hydrotest pressure, rating and/or de-rating, fitness for service evaluations to assess flaws or damage, pipe stress analysis, flange calculations, and performing nozzle calculations. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the integrity and efficiency of piping and valves systems within our organization. Responsibilities:

• Perform field troubleshooting on a daily basis or as requested.
• Participate in major T&Is and emergency plant shutdowns.
• Provide support to maintenance organizations by developing repair procedures and following up with ongoing repairs.
• Participate in facilities audit activities.
• Provide engineering support to repair hydrocarbon leaks and review/approve bolted clamp calculations and designs from leak sealing contractor companies.
• Review detailed drawings and material specifications for piping modifications as requested.
• Participate in HAZOP Studies review.
• Perform piping mechanical calculations, including minimum wall thickness, branch reinforcement, MAWP calculations, hydrotest pressure, rating, and de-rating of piping circuits, fitness for service evaluations, pipe stress analysis, flange calculations, and nozzle calculations.
• Perform mechanical calculations and technical assessments for miscellaneous mechanical items, such as expansion joints, steam traps, special valves, strainers, and quill injectors.
• Perform Hot Tap calculations following This Company standard SAEP-311 and API 2201.
• Troubleshoot and assess valve selection, perform mechanical calculations for check valves, and perform torque calculations for valve stems.
• Calculate and select spring hangers and provide maintenance with repair procedures.
• Select gasket types and materials, provide correct specifications, and determine applicability to critical services.
• Perform mechanical assessment for firefighting equipment and systems, including basic hydraulic calculations for deluge systems, sprinklers, and fire monitors.
• Perform basic structural calculations for temporary supports and minor modifications.
• Evaluate and recommend metallurgical changes along with Corrosion and Inspection specialist.
• Develop basic welding procedures for repair of mechanical components and obtain concurrence from CSD welding specialist.
• Develop EWRs by preparing detailed design packages, including scope of work, assembly/erection procedures, welding procedures, NDT requirements, material list, and sketches/drawings.
• Review and approve quotations received as requested by maintenance when necessary (e.g., valves, pipe, and fittings of special materials).
• Perform mechanical reviews and provide comments on P&IDs, piping plans, equipment SIS, piping and material specifications, support specifications, hydrotest procedures, specialty items specifications, isometrics drawings, and pipe stress analysis.
• Actively involved in various initiatives, including Risk Elimination, Facilities audits, Major BIs and EWO review, development of Asset Integrity programs (AIMS and APM), setting KPIs and monitoring their deployment and performance, and issuing recommendations to enhance Asset Integrity Programs deployment and performance.

• This role required candidate to permanently relocate at Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 15+ years' experience within the refinery and/or NGLF industry, specifically in asset integrity of piping and valves.
• At least 10 years of field experience working on plant major turnarounds and field troubleshooting.
• Thorough knowledge of best engineering practices and solid industry codes and standards background (ASME, API, NACE, ASTM, ISO).
• Proficient in the use of engineering software.
