Al-Ahli Hospital has achieved yet another milestone in its pursuit of excellence in guest safety and quality. Last week a team of esteemed surveyors from the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards International (ACHSI), one of the top healthcare accreditation bodies in the world, conducted a planned periodic review. This event marks the two year anniversary since the Hospital achieved full international accreditation under the ACHSI Evaluation and Quality Improvement Program (EQuIP) and provides an opportunity for a team of industry peers to evaluate the continuous quality improvement activities of the hospital over this time.
The survey team comprised members from Australia, Sri Lanka, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Over two days they evaluated the Hospital’s performance against the EQuIP Mandatory Standards as well as acknowledging the satisfactory completion of all recommendation from the 2014 survey.
The survey team congratulated the hospital on it measureable improvements across all evaluation areas and on the significant enhancements implemented in team collaboration and focus on improving the quality of care.
Mr. Khalid Al-Emadi, Chief Executive Officer welcomed the opportunity for an in-depth peer review and feedback and acknowledged the commitment demonstrated by all staff to strive for the highest international standards of care. He said “achieving ACHSI accreditation in the first place was a significant boost to the team and this helped propel them to higher levels of achievement”. He added that “sustaining and improving on this standard is very gratifying and underscores the Hospital’s mission and values”.
