Assistant Facilities Manager Location: North East Hours of work: 40 Contract Type: Permanent We are looking for an Assistant Facilities Manager to ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of facility services as part of a key client contract. While primarily based in Newcastle, this role covers the North East and will involve travel to other sites in the region - a company car is provided. Job Description Reporting to the Regional Facilities Manager (RFM), you will be responsible for leading and supervising onsite facility staff (Placemakers) as well as managing contractors across a designated regional area. Working closely with our Placemaker teams, you will help create an outstanding workplace experience for our customers, ensuring high standards of service and operational excellence. - Support contract management in service delivery and improvement
- Maintain a safe and compliant working environment
- Manage staff rostering to meet contractual requirements
- Oversee and update documents (Audits, COSHH, H&S, SOPs)
- Recruit, train, and develop frontline Placemakers
- Ensure services are delivered commercially and efficiently
- Manage customer queries and complaints appropriately
- Complete all required reporting and administration on time
- Control costs related to materials, labour, and agency use
- Identify and maximise additional revenue opportunities
- Supervise and manage staff effectively
- Ensure compliance with recruitment and HR procedures
- Conduct appraisals and development activities for staff
- Implement succession planning for key roles
- Collaborate with other ISS sectors to achieve corporate objectives
- Supervision experience in facilities or cleaning services
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently
- Understanding of service outcomes and contract success
- Performance management to achieve successful outcomes
- Identifies and implements service improvements
- Problem-solving skills for operational challenges
- Strong leadership and communication abilities
- Monitors and reviews team performance to meet targets
