Join Northpower as an Acoustic Inspection Engineer , where you will play a crucial role in delivering industry-leading Acoustic Inspection Services for power networks. The Role As an Acoustic Inspection Engineer, you will combine technical expertise with fieldwork to assess the condition of overhead power lines, substations, and electrical assets. Your work will directly support network reliability and maintenance planning. In this role, you will:
- Perform acoustic inspections – Assess overhead transmission and distribution networks, substations, and ground-mounted equipment using specialised ultrasonic technology.
- Analyse data – Conduct acoustic survey analysis and electrical evaluations to identify asset risks and performance trends.
- Deliver reports and insights – Prepare clear, detailed reports that align with customer maintenance and risk management standards.
- Conduct additional assessments – Perform complementary inspections such as visual surveys, infrared thermal imaging, and online testing.
- Collaborate with aerial inspection teams – Work alongside drone pilots to integrate aerial-based inspections into acoustic survey programs.

- A degree or diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronics Engineering
