We're going to make Australia waste-free, for all of us. BINGO industries are looking for our newest Financial Accountant . This is an exciting opportunity working out of our Head Office in Auburn. Role & Responsibilities:
- Maintain a complete and accurate fixed asset register, ensuring all additions, disposals, and reclassifications are recorded timely.
- Perform monthly reconciliations between the fixed asset register and the general ledger, resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Calculate and record depreciation accurately, adhering to Australian accounting standards (AASB 116).
- Conduct periodic reviews of asset lives and residual values, recommending adjustments where necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date lease schedules and ensure proper recording of right-of-use assets and lease liabilities under AASB 16.
- Perform monthly reconciliations for lease-related accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor lease contracts for changes and ensure timely accounting for modifications, renewals, or terminations.
- Support external audits by providing lease-related documentation and addressing auditor queries promptly.
- Maintain a detailed register for intangible assets, ensuring accurate recording of additions, amortizations, and impairments.
- Perform impairment testing for intangible assets annually or as required under AASB 136.
- Reconcile intangible asset accounts with the general ledger monthly.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards for internally generated intangible assets.
- Prepare month-end journal entries and reconcile key balance sheet accounts monthly, resolving any discrepancies promptly.
- Collaborate with the financial reporting, assets, and FP&A team to ensure compliance with reporting deadlines and deliverables.
- CPA or CA.
- Proficiency in fixed asset, lease, and intangible asset management and accounting treatments.
- Solid knowledge of accounting and financial concepts.
- Ability to effectively apply knowledge of financial and accounting principles and practices.
- Strong computer skills and working knowledge of office software packages (Microsoft Dynamics 365).
