Junior Application Support Analyst Job Summary: Al Ramz Corporation P.J.S.C. is seeking a Junior Application Support to join our growing team. This role will be responsible for monitoring, managing and supporting our global production trading systems. This position responsibility will range from handling time-sensitive production issues to driving forward longer-term projects, such as automation initiatives and major platform changes. The Junior application supports analyst will work closely with Trading, Finance, Operations and Infrastructure teams at Al Ramz, as well as with external counterparties and vendors. Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide best-in-class operational support to ensure the stability and high availability of our production trading platforms.
  • Continuously monitor system performance and proactively address potential issues before they impact production.
  • Implements computer system requirements by defining and analyzing system problems, and testing standards and solutions.
  • Troubleshoot production incidents and outages resulting from internal (trading systems components) or external factors (exchanges, market data feeds, network outages).
  • Provide hands-on support to our trading desks daily.
  • Coordinate with vendors and support team on problem resolution, design issues and upgrades.
  • Test and validate all changes and bug fixes before moving to production.
  • Own the production deployment and configuration process and continue to evolve towards higher levels of excellence surrounding change management.
  • Support our diverse presence across markets, interacting with various exchanges regarding our trading activity, connectivity, and other technical support issues.
  • Defines application problem by conferring with business users, evaluating procedures and processes.
  • Document incidents in detail for future reference, including resolution steps, which can feed into knowledge base development and continual improvement of incident handling.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of automation solutions to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Ensures operation by training business users and providing support.
  • Provides reference by writing documentation.
Qualifications:
  • Mandatory: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Solid understanding and experience working in the brokerage industry supporting electronic trading systems as a subject matter expert.
Competencies or Skills:
  • Must have a solid understanding and experience working in the brokerage industry supporting electronic trading systems as a subject matter expert.
  • Strong hands-on experience in configuring, troubleshooting, SQL scripting and monitoring Data bases like Oracle 19c+ and SQL Server 2012+ is a Must.
  • Experience in: Multiple OS platforms with strong emphasis on Linux (CentOS, Red Hat, Ubuntu), Mac OS X, and Windows systems.
  • Must have a strong hands-on experience in Market Data Feed technologies, FIX protocol, Refinitiv AUTEX and Bloomberg EMSX.
  • Experience in First Information Technology (FIT) trading system will be highly considered as an added advantage.
  • Fair fundamental understanding of Infrastructure concepts such as: compute (different OS environments, virtualization, containers), networking (TCP, UDP, DNS, and storage (object/block/file, NFS).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Intellectually curious individual, eager to learn and apply new concepts quickly.
  • High level of ownership and accountability.
  • Highly collaborative team player with the ability to build relationships with multiple teams.
  • Available to join an on-call rotation and work outside of core business hours or on weekends.
  • Client-facing skills to assist both internal and external stakeholders with technical issues.
  • Strong, clear communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation).
  • Excellent organization and technical documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes like Incident, Problem Management.
  • ITIL certifications will be added advantage.
  • Fair Knowledge of Cloud Solutions such as Open Stack, AWS & Azure Cloud.
  • Fair knowledge of ManageEngine and SolarWinds monitoring tools.
