Business Development Manager - Agrifood and Consumer

  • Classification: Austrade Overseas Performance Level C (AOPL C)
  • Salary: SAR 234,153 per annum including allowances
The role: The Business Development Manager (BDM) role is based at Austrade’s Office at the Australian Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The BDM is the key business development role assisting Australian businesses in the Agriculture, Food & Consumer (AFC) sector, primarily in Saudi Arabia, but also in identified key markets of Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Jordan, Bahrain and Egypt. Duties include:
  1. Implement Austrade strategies in Saudi Arabia and identified markets in the AFC sector by developing and managing relevant initiatives including missions and business-matching activities.
  2. Establish and maintain partnerships with Australian and Middle East businesses and other stakeholders.
  3. Deliver high quality professional services to eligible Australian businesses including Austrade’s market-specific advice, connection, and support services.
  4. Undertake market research and analysis to identify market trends for existing and emerging business opportunities for Australian companies.
  5. Manage and deliver in-market programs to develop new business and win major business opportunities, monitoring milestones and outcomes.
  6. Actively apply Austrade business practices and maintain accuracy of information in all Austrade Business Systems to deliver accurate and timely reporting and effective relationship management.
  7. Contribute to knowledge creation within Austrade, by adopting information practices, sharing knowledge and information and by embracing best practice and development opportunities.
  8. Work collaboratively within the Austrade network to contribute to service delivery and achieve trade and investment outcomes and uphold the Australian Public Service (APS) Values, Employment Principles and Code of Conduct and Work Health & Safety (WHS) principles.
Eligibility: To be eligible for consideration and appointment you must have:
  • Work Authorisation: legal authorisation to live and work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the time of appointment.
  • Language: fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic.
  • Security Clearance: a willingness to complete an Entry Level Screening Pack and be confirmed as a suitable person to access Government resources prior to commencement.
