We are working with an established contractor who are seeking a General Foreman/Works Manager to work on a £30 million project within the larger Sizewell C programme. You will be responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of a project, ensuring the effective management of all site resources, including plant and labour. Annual revenue of the company is approximately £50M, with project values ranging from £500K to £30M. The company's revenue has grown consistently and organically and is expected to continue this trajectory. A true specialist with already secured future revenue, the company is in the enviable position of being selective with its tenders. They have a proven track record of engaging clients early, supporting ECI processes, winning projects through alternative technical proposals, and negotiating contracts. Their client list spans numerous public and private sector end clients, some of whom they have worked with for several decades, as well as several household-name Tier One Main Contractors. Responsibilities:
- Foster a high-performing team culture, mentor and coach subordinates, and identify training needs for site operatives.
- Maintain a productive, safe, and clean working environment, encouraging feedback and good work ethics.
- Ensure adherence to all H&S regulations, maintain proper documentation, and uphold the highest safety standards.
- Follow environmental legislation, minimise impact, ensure waste compliance, and consider sustainability in procurement.
- Efficiently manage plant, labour, and materials to minimise waste, maximise profitability, and ensure cost accuracy.
- Proactively plan for potential disruptions (e.g., weather, labour shortages) and maintain accurate records for future reference.
- Ensure adherence to company procedures and maintain high security standards to prevent loss and vandalism.
- You have experience managing direct delivery work on projects valued up to £20m
- You are IT literate with the ability to write reports, read programmes and update site records
- You have experience managing two work fronts or more
- You hold a CSCS black card and an SMSTS or SSSTS
