Ventia’s Defence Base Services (DBS) team have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Land Management Supervisor on a full-time basis. This position will see you working at the RAAF Pearce defence base in Bullsbrook, WA. As the Land Management Supervisor you will be required to effectively direct and supervise the Grounds Maintenance personnel and assist the Environmental Services Manager and/or Environmental Services Coordinator in the provision of Grounds Maintenance service delivery. About you Reporting directly into the Operations Services Manager, you are someone who enjoys being relied upon and building relationships and engaging with staff, sub-contractors, and stakeholders to ensure all duties carried out are compliant with Commonwealth, State/Territory & Local Legislation, Regulations, Guidelines and Codes, Australian Standards and Defence Policy. You are naturally a results-focused individual who can identify and prioritise problems and issues, generate solutions and work collaboratively to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. You have outstanding prioritising and organisational capabilities, a high degree of motivation, energy, and initiative, with the capacity to drive a culture of delivering excellence, whilst dealing with multiple and often conflicting priorities. Key duties, but not limited to:
- Build and develop strong business relationships with Defence management
- Drive the completion of all allocated enabling services that includes support to onsite activities
- Understand customer needs and manage expectations, balancing them with commercial deliverables
- Deliver consistent and timely advice on the operability and maintainability of estate items delivered by the project
- Validate & verify updates to estate, compliance and contract data and documentation
- Provide accurate and timely advice to relevant Defence personnel where required
- Diploma in Horticulture or Land Management or equivalent experience
- Good working knowledge of turf, Horticulture, Arboriculture, Land Management and irrigation operations
- Valid Australian Driving Licence essential, Medium Ridged Licence would be advantageous
- Chainsaw Certificate Level 1 and 2 desirable
- Agvet Chemical Users Course (or state equivalent)
- Well-developed computer, word processing and technical knowledge in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Dealing with wildlife is a major component of the job, snake handling experience will be highly regarded
