- People Leadership & Team Development : Lead, inspire, and coach a high-performance accounting team.
- Financial Reporting : Ensure accurate and timely financial reports for senior management, external parties, and regulatory bodies, including the Ministry of Education and University Council.
- Data Integrity : Maintain financial data integrity by ensuring accurate transactions, compliance with policies, and regular reconciliations.
- Treasury Management : Oversee cash flow, investment returns, and foreign exchange, ensuring alignment with the University's financial strategy.
- Policy Development & Compliance : Lead the creation and implementation of financial policies and ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
- Risk Management & Compliance : Identify and manage financial risks, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and reporting regulations.
- At least 12 years of experience in accounting, including a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing financial reporting and management accounting.
- Extensive experience with Oracle Financials or similar systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and solid technical knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team of 8+ staff, driving performance and professional development.
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or related field, with Chartered Accountant membership (NZICA) required.
