Summary: This is a start-up project to open pilot convenience stores in Riyadh. As the head of FMCG, you will start from the base to design a specific product category within our company for “convenience format” stores. This includes designing assortment for "convenience store" setting pricing, and promotions, negotiating with suppliers, leveraging their expertise to secure advantageous terms, and maintaining strong supplier relationships. You will also work closely with management to ensure alignment with our commercial strategy. This role highly demands a hands-on approach during preparation for pilot stores. Objectives of this role:

  1. Define category roles and design product category for "Convenience format" stores.
  2. Set in-house production processes, recipes, ready-to-eat options, and design packaging.
  3. Analyze competitor activities, assortment, pricing, and promotions to ensure alignment with our commercial strategy.
  4. Utilize experience in customer behavior and deep product knowledge in the KSA market.
  5. Collaborate with various teams, including commercial consultants and partners.
  6. Evaluate customer feedback and implement changes to enhance overall customer experience and drive loyalty.
  7. Develop solid relationships with key vendors and suppliers to improve category offerings and negotiate favorable terms.
  8. Lead supplier negotiations, ensuring favorable terms and conditions to drive cost savings and strengthen supplier relationships.
  9. Develop procedures, QA, and SOPs.
Skills:
  1. A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  2. 3+ years of experience as a category manager in the retail industry in Saudi Arabia.
  3. Strong understanding of the Saudi Arabia market and convenience format stores , consumer behavior, and retail trends.
  4. Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, category management tools, and software for data analysis and reporting.
  5. Flexibility to adapt to changing market dynamics, consumer preferences, and organizational priorities.
  6. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  7. Excellent communication and negotiation skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  8. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  9. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
