IT Help Desk Specialist

Job Purpose Support and maintain computer systems, desktops, and peripherals which include installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal workstation performance. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  1. Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications.
  2. Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks.
  3. Help users through a series of actions, either face to face or over the telephone, to help set up systems or resolve issues.
  4. Troubleshoot system and network problems and diagnose and solve hardware/software faults.
  5. Replace parts as required.
  6. Provide support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports.
  7. Follow diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system.
  8. Support the roll-out of new applications.
  9. Set up new users' accounts and profiles and deal with password issues.
  10. Respond within agreed time limits to call-outs.
  11. Work continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate).
  12. Prioritize and manage many open cases at one time.
Language: Arabic and English Skills
  1. Working technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including Windows Workstations, Windows Servers, Vmware, Linux.
  2. Extensive application support experience with IP Scanners, repairing S/W tools and converters, Client Antivirus, remote management agents (Remote Admin, Remote Assistance, Desktop remote Connection), Exchange Clients (MS Outlook, Outlook Express, Outlook WEB Mail), VPN client connections, Client Firewalls.
  3. Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards, including ADSL Modems and Routers, Indoor and Outdoor Wireless AP, Switches, Patch Panels, HP Laser and DeskJet Printers, different types of scanners, TCP/IP protocol and related commands (Telnet, ping, Tracert, route, IPConfig, netstat), POP3, SMTP, DHCP.
