About the Role: At Hunger Inc., we are a collective of culinary innovators with a mission to reimagine India’s rich food culture. As a  Human Resources Operations & Payroll Specialist , you’ll be a key player in ensuring smooth HR operations across our diverse brands. This role offers the chance to collaborate with our HR managers, supporting the employee experience from onboarding to offboarding, and ensuring operational excellence in payroll and compliance processes. You will be at the heart of our HR function, working across teams to maintain a positive, streamlined work environment for all our employees. In this role, you will contribute to the success of our growing and dynamic brand family— The Bombay Canteen O Pedro Bombay Sweet Shop Veronica’s , and our newest venture,  Papa’s —by enhancing the employee experience and maintaining smooth operational processes across the organization. Our office is in Lalbaug and this role will work on site, with weekly travel to the Hunger Inc outlets Who You Are: You are a detail-oriented HR operations professional with 3-4 years of experience, ideally in the hospitality industry or a fast-paced startup environment. You have a solid foundation in payroll management, compliance, and HR operations, and you’re eager to expand your skills while contributing to the success of an innovative and growing company. You’re proactive, organized, and a problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You are passionate about providing excellent support to employees and ensuring the highest standards in HR practices. You take pride in driving operational excellence, supporting employee engagement, and contributing to a seamless employee lifecycle experience. Your Team: You will work closely with the HR, Finance, and operations teams across all our brands. Collaborating with HR managers and leadership, you will help ensure smooth execution of daily HR operations, employee engagement initiatives, and payroll management, all while supporting a positive employee experience. You will also partner with various teams across the business to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll, benefits, and compliance. Reporting Structure: You will report directly to the  Head of People & Strategy  and work alongside the central HR team to ensure alignment in processes and a seamless employee experience across Hunger Inc.’s diverse brands. Key Responsibilities:

  • Employee Lifecycle Management: Support the end-to-end employee lifecycle, including onboarding, documentation, induction programs, and exit processes across all brands.
  • Payroll Processing: Execute the monthly payroll in collaboration with HR and Finance teams, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Employee Records Management: Maintain and update employee information confidentially and in compliance with relevant policies and laws.
  • Employee Support: Address queries from employees related to documentation, Provident Fund (PF), tax filing, and other HR matters.
  • HR Tech Support: Provide guidance and support on internal HR tools and systems, ensuring employees can access and utilize resources effectively.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with various departments to ensure smooth HR operations, including coordinating with teams to resolve operational challenges.
  • Employee Engagement: Contribute to employee engagement initiatives that promote a positive work culture and enhance employee satisfaction.
  • Internal Communication: Maintain clear and timely internal communication for all brands, ensuring consistency and transparency.
Skills & Experience: To excel in this role, you will need:
  • 3-4 years of experience in HR operations, ideally within the hospitality industry or a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Experience in payroll processing, compliance, and HR operations.
  • Strong communication skills in both English and Hindi, both written and verbal.
  • Expertise in MS Excel and familiarity with HR tech tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A proactive, problem-solving attitude, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
