Duties:- Review plans and specifications to identify conflicts.
- Evaluate contractor change requests and negotiate contract modifications.
- Exercise judgment in decisions that often require considerable amounts of interpretation in regards to regulations.
- Act as primary staff advisor to the Project Architect/Engineer on assigned projects.
- Perform and direct inspections of construction operations.
- Recommend work assignments for USACE quality assurance personnel.
- Incumbent may be exposed to excessive heat; dust or fumes; electrical energy; slippery or uneven walking surfaces; working around machinery with moving parts; working around moving objects or vehicles; working in confined spaces.
- Generally, indoor work location has power, water, heating, and air conditioning, although outages should be expected. Lack of sleep may occur due to long work hours and uncomfortable living conditions.
- Position requires temporary duty (TDY) business travel approximately 25% of the time.
- Incumbent must complete and sign DD Form 2365, FEB 2000 (DoD Civilian Employee Overseas Emergency-Essential Position Agreement).
- Position requires a valid driver’s license. The individual selected must be able to obtain a government vehicle driver's license.
- Incumbent may be required to wear appropriate personal protective (PPE) equipment such as a respirator, safety glasses, hearing protectors, special clothing, etc.
- Work may entail long, strenuous work hours.
- The incumbent is required to perform the duties and requirements of the position in the event of a crisis until relieved by proper authority. Essential Position Agreement, DD Form 2365, must be completed prior to deployment.
- Pre-employment physical required as a condition of employment, prior to appointment, reassignment, or transfer, prior to reporting for duty. Subsequent annual physicals are required.
