Mechanical Team Lead

Reporting to the Engineering & Design Manager, this role is responsible for leading ETEL’s mechanical team function. This role is an opportunity for a senior Mechanical Engineer to lead a team within our wider engineering department. What you’ll do:

• Lead, coach and guide a team of 3 direct reports
• Ensure resources are assigned appropriately and deliverables progress in accordance with the project stage gate requirements
• Ensure the provision of cost efficient, accurate and integrated mechanical design modelling, drawings and documentation to deliver to time, quality and compliance standards.
• Manage ETEL’s mechanical design software environment
• Identify areas for process improvement and cost reduction

What you’ll have:

• A Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering
• Prior experience with 3D modelling (preferably SolidWorks and PDM)
• Experience with Design Automation
• Understanding of the manufacturing process and manufacturing drawing requirements
• Team management experience
• High attention to detail, accuracy and adherence to quality requirements
• Experience building quality processes & standards to ensure compliance
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels
• The ability to be well planned & organised, resourceful, and manage your time effectively
• Effective influencing and persuading skills
