Job Description: Fuel Injection Application Software Engineer – ECU / VCU Development Location : Jaipur Experience : Graduate : 9 – 12 yrs / PG: 6 – 9 years Industry : Automotive Role Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fuel Injection Software Engineer to focus on the design, development, and optimization of software solutions for vehicle-level Fuel Injection (FI) systems . This role will involve creating advanced control algorithms for Electronic Control Units (ECUs), ensuring seamless interaction with sensors and actuators, and delivering software that meets performance, diagnostic, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: 1. Fuel Injection System Software Development
- Design and develop control algorithms for fuel injection systems, focusing on fuel delivery, injection timing, and system efficiency.
- Implement embedded software for ECU interfacing with FI system components, including injectors, pumps, sensors (e.g., pressure, speed, temperature), and actuators.
- Optimize software for real-time execution to ensure precise fuel delivery under various operating conditions.
- Define and document software requirements for fuel injection systems, including functional, safety, and regulatory aspects.
- Develop diagnostic software for detecting and addressing FI system faults in sensors, actuators, and ECU interfaces.
- Map ECU terminal configurations to meet vehicle functional and FI system performance requirements.
- Perform calibration of ECU parameters for fuel injection control, including injector pulse widths, rail pressure, and air-fuel ratios.
- Develop diagnostic algorithms to monitor sensor and actuator health, detect failures, and set diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
- Define threshold values for fuel injection system components and ensure accurate calibration across diverse operating conditions.
- Design and execute test cases for fuel injection software validation, covering vehicle-level and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments.
- Perform system-level testing to validate injection timing, emissions compliance, and overall FI system performance.
- Generate detailed test reports, highlighting results and recommending software improvements.
- Benchmark fuel injection system software against industry standards and competitor products to identify improvement areas.
- Introduce innovative software-based solutions to improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions.
- Collaborate with hardware and system teams to implement Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives.
- Ensure software complies with relevant standards, such as ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) and OBD-II (On-Board Diagnostics).
- Maintain thorough documentation of software architecture, algorithms, and calibration data.
- Stay updated on global regulatory requirements for fuel injection systems and integrate them into software design.
- Developing precise, reliable software for real-time fuel injection control.
- Ensuring compliance with stringent emission regulations and diagnostic requirements.
- Adapting to rapidly changing vehicle functional requirements during the development cycle.
- Creating robust diagnostic software to minimize warranty claims and market recalls.
- Balancing innovation with cost-effectiveness in FI system software design.
- Accuracy and efficiency of fuel injection system software.
- Reduction in fuel consumption and emissions through software optimization.
- Effective calibration of fuel injection parameters with minimal iterations.
- Timely delivery of validated software solutions aligned with project schedules.
- Reduction in diagnostic response times and improved fault detection accuracy.
- Strong proficiency in embedded C/C++ programming for automotive ECUs.
- Deep understanding of Fuel Injection (FI) system control strategies and real-time algorithms.
- Experience with diagnostic software development (UDS, CAN, LIN protocols).
- Hands-on experience with tools such as MATLAB/Simulink , calibration tools (e.g., INCA, CANape), and HIL systems.
- Knowledge of fuel injection system components (injectors, sensors, pumps) and their interactions.
- Familiarity with emission standards (e.g., BS6, Euro 6) and diagnostic compliance (OBD-II).
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Electronics, Electrical, or a related field.
