Role Summary The Senior Planner is responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules to ensure the timely and successful delivery of the Al Ula Project. This role involves coordinating with various project teams, identifying potential delays, and implementing mitigation strategies. The Senior Planner will ensure all planning and scheduling activities comply with project objectives, contractual requirements, and industry standards. Key Responsibilities

  1. Schedule Development and Management:
    • Develop detailed baseline project schedules in collaboration with the project management team.
    • Define project milestones, critical paths, and resource allocation for various work phases.
    • Regularly update and maintain project schedules, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  2. Progress Monitoring:
    • Track project progress and compare it against the baseline schedule to identify variances.
    • Prepare detailed progress reports, including S-curves, earned value analysis, and performance indices.
    • Highlight schedule risks, delays, or potential issues and recommend corrective actions.
  3. Coordination and Communication:
    • Coordinate planning and scheduling efforts with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
    • Facilitate regular project planning meetings to review progress, updates, and risks.
    • Provide stakeholders with clear and concise updates on project timelines and schedules.
  4. Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
    • Identify potential risks affecting the project schedule and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Support the project team in managing delays, disruptions, or changes in scope.
    • Implement recovery plans to bring the project back on track when necessary.
  5. Compliance and Reporting:
    • Ensure schedules are compliant with contractual and client requirements.
    • Generate weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc planning reports for project management and senior leadership.
    • Maintain documentation for schedule changes, justifications, and approvals.
  6. Tools and Techniques:
    • Utilize planning and scheduling software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and related tools effectively.
    • Optimize resource utilization and allocation to improve project efficiency.
    • Integrate scheduling data with cost and resource management systems for enhanced project control.
Qualifications and Skills Educational Background:
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Experience:
  • 8–10 years of planning and scheduling experience in large-scale construction projects, preferably luxury hospitality or heritage-focused developments.
  • Proven track record of managing complex project schedules and delivering within defined timelines.
Technical Skills:
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and scheduling principles.
  • Expertise in resource loading, cost loading, and critical path analysis (CPA).
  • Familiarity with earned value management (EVM) and performance metrics.
Core Competencies:
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with diverse teams.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to risk management.
Certifications (Preferred):
  • PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • AACE Certified Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP).
