You will play a critical role in assessing micro businesses' creditworthiness, underwriting loan applications, and managing exceptional transactions to support our micro-financing operations. We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical individual with a strong background in credit analysis and risk management to join our team and contribute to our mission to disrupt the financial industry. Responsibilities

  • Evaluate creditworthiness of loan applicants by analyzing financial history, credit reports, business plans, and other relevant information to assess risk and determine loan eligibility.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence on borrowers, including industry analysis, market trends, and competitive positioning, to identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain credit risk policies, underwriting guidelines, and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Manage exceptional transactions including high-risk applications by conducting in-depth risk assessments and presenting recommendations to senior management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, and legal, to ensure alignment on credit decisions and mitigate risks associated with loan origination and servicing.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance credit scoring models and scorecards to improve predictive accuracy, automate decision-making processes, and streamline underwriting workflows.
  • Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments affecting credit risk management and micro-finance lending and incorporate learnings into credit policies and practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in credit analysis, risk management, or underwriting in the financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of credit risk principles, financial analysis techniques, and underwriting standards, with experience in assessing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and/or micro-enterprises.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, cash flow analysis, and credit scoring methodologies.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to credit risk management and lending practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial information and make sound credit decisions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
