Purpose: This position is responsible for planning and coordinating workshop maintenance activities for the company's bus fleet, ensuring efficient use of resources, minimal downtime & compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Job Summary: The incumbent's goal is to plan and coordinate workshop maintenance activities, ensuring optimal vehicle uptime and minimal downtime. Main Responsibilities & Tasks:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance plans & schedules for the fleet, ensuring optimal vehicle uptime and minimal downtime.
  • Lead the planning and scheduling of all workshop maintenance & repair activities, balancing fleet performance with operational requirements.
  • Ensure all maintenance tasks are prioritized effectively and completed within agreed timelines.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as vehicle downtime, repair costs & maintenance backlog.
  • Analyze performance data, identify trends, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency & reduce costs.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed reports on maintenance performance, budgets, & KPIs for senior management review.
  • Manage and supervise the workshop planning team, ensuring effective workload distribution & high-performance standards.
  • Monitor and manage the utilization of resources, including labor, materials & equipment to ensure efficient workshop operations.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping of maintenance activities and equipment history.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety, quality, and regulatory standards, overseeing the proper documentation & reporting on maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with fleet management to understand operational needs and adjust plans to ensure fleet reliability.
  • Identify and resolve any issues in the planning & execution of maintenance activities.
  • Provide leadership and support to the workshop planning team, ensuring effective communication & task completion.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external contractors & vendors for specialized services and support.
  • Build and maintain good customer & supplier relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and cooperation.
Minimum Required Qualifications, Certificates & Skills:
  • At least a Diploma in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, logistics, operations management).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a planning or logistics role, preferably in a maintenance or transportation environment.
  • Any relevant certification or training such as:
    • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP)
    • Maintenance and Repair Management Certification
