We are seeking a motivated and dynamic leader to head our NZ Transport Infrastructure business group. This is a rare opportunity to drive strategic initiatives, project delivery and business development while shaping the future of New Zealand’s transport infrastructure. This is an exciting time to join GHD. After an in-depth review and reorganisation of our Transport business, we are positioned for significant growth and success in the New Zealand/Pacific Transport market. This is your chance to play a key role in driving the business forward while enhancing the experience for existing clients and expanding our reach with new opportunities. Based in Auckland , you will leverage your technical knowledge of the transport sector and leadership expertise to lead our Transport Infrastructure group. This includes teams in Civil Infrastructure, Road Design, and Road Management. Working closely with the Operations Manager for Transport and Water and Transport Market Leader, you will strengthen existing client relationships across private, local government, and state sectors, while identifying new business prospects. Ultimately, your role will be to support and develop our people, while ensuring the continued success and growth of the Transport business and delivering an exceptional client experience. Key Responsibilities:- Lead the business performance, people, and resources of the NZ Transport Infrastructure Business Group, ensuring a cohesive and high-performing team.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external clients, ensuring an outstanding experience at all stages of the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with Market Leaders to align the business group’s objectives with the broader market sector strategy, driving growth and innovation.
- Manage employee performance and development effectively, ensuring timely and constructive feedback, coaching, and career progression.
- Take accountability for financial performance, managing budgets and resources to meet business goals and KPIs.
- Champion GHD's values and lead the group in accordance with our strategic vision and corporate objectives.
- Degree qualified Engineer (ideally CPEng accredited) with a minimum 15 years’ industry experience in the transport sector
- Proven leadership in a Group Manager or senior leadership role within the transport sector
- Strong commercial acumen and strategic mindset with the ability to lead and manage large scale transport projects
- Exceptional leadership skills and interpersonal skills with a track record of building and leading high performing teams
- Experience in a consultancy or fast paced environment is highly desirable, where delivering results and exceeding client expectations is second nature.
