Highway Design Engineer

Location: Qatar Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Highway Design Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will get to work on projects that change the fabric of our community. What You’ll Be Doing:

• The Highway Design Engineer will provide project design civil engineering services such as preparation of project study reports, project reports, geometric approval drawings, plans, specifications, and estimates.
• Design horizontal and vertical roadway alignments and super elevation diagrams.
• Perform quantity calculations and project estimates.
• Manage Associate Engineers in completing project deliverables.
• Develop details for construction, detour, signing, and marking.
• Coordinate with project team and interdisciplinary technical personnel.
• Assist senior staff in completing project deliverables.
• Provide support for other engineering activities as required.
• Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

• At least a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in the field of highway and roadway design using Autodesk Civil3D, Microstation, and GeoPak design software.
• A thorough working knowledge of AASHTO design guidelines is required.
• Roadway & Highway design experience in Qatar projects.
• Geometric alignments design experience.
• Must be MME certified.
• Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal, and have experience in composing correspondence related to responsibilities.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:

• The Engineer at this level is proficient in the utilization of standard engineering theories and practices and Company procedures. Some assignments involve CAE (computer-aided engineering) / CAD (computer-aided design) applications.
