Head of Recurrent Funding, Data and Analytics Add expected salary to your profile for insights Permanent role Competitive salary package Hybrid work arrangements offered Based in Brisbane CBD The Queensland Catholic Education Commission (QCEC or the Commission) is a 16-member body established to support and advance Catholic education in Queensland. QCEC's principal role is advocacy, representation and strategy development to achieve policy, access and funding outcomes. These core focuses drive the work of the Commission in engaging with the five Diocesan and seventeen other Catholic school authorities that administer and manage schools across the state. Additionally, QCEC is the peak body for Catholic education in Queensland and is accountable to governments for funding and compliance. Primary purpose of the role: Expert analysis, advice and strategy related to funding models, legislation and agreements. Implementation of the Commission's needs-based funding arrangement. Monitoring financial compliance in accordance with Federal and State legislation, regulation and ensuring the timely completion of the Financial Questionnaire and other reporting and compliance obligations. Maintain strong relationships with key finance personnel at various Catholic School Authorities, ensuring the shared understanding of funding and compliance issues. Improve financial management through contributing to Committees, reference groups, forums, staff development and other education opportunities. Provide insightful financial analysis to the Commission and other stakeholders to ensure well-informed decision-making. Lead the data collection, business intelligence and analytics program. Key strategic objectives and accountabilities: Financial and Data Leadership Lead and manage the work program for a team of four (4) staff in the Funding, Data and Analytics team. Provide financial and data leadership through high-level policy, strategy and advocacy to achieve the strategic and cultural objectives of the Commission. Monitoring financial compliance in accordance with all Federal and State legislation, regulation and other reporting and compliance obligations. Effectively manage the administration of recurrent funding and the non-state transport assistance scheme. Oversee processes and tools for the collection and provision of data. Provide an effective business intelligence platform and other tools for the analysis and sharing of student and financial information and other relevant information. Provide insightful financial and enrolment analysis to the Commission and other stakeholders to ensure well-informed decision-making. People Management Positively engage with staff and role model the values and behaviours of the Commission. Ensure the Funding, Data and Analytics team staff are appropriately trained and accredited to carry out the functions of their position. Ensure management responsibilities are undertaken in accordance with Human Resources policy and procedure. Advocacy and Stakeholder Management Maintain strong relationships with key finance personnel to ensure a shared understanding of funding and compliance issues. Support financial management through contributing to Committees, reference groups, forums, staff development and other education opportunities. Keep relevant authorities informed on financial-related issues. Education, Skills and Experience Qualifications in accounting, finance, management or a related field. Previous experience working with complex financial models and interpreting legislation and regulation. Previous experience overseeing data and analytics programs. Strong understanding of complex financial models, concepts and data governance, with ability to develop high-level insights and advice.
