Job Description Mō te tūranga | About the role Providing parental leave cover to February 2026, this role is responsible for:
- Advocating for the audience, ensuring the delivery of consistent, high-quality visitor experiences across exhibitions and the wider museum.
- Providing mentorship and guidance within the Interpretive Planning team.
- Leading the development of content and interpretation for specific exhibitions and visitor experiences in highly collaborative project teams.
- Developing high-quality interpretive approaches for exhibitions and associated media (moving image, audio, digital experiences, physical interactives, text, graphics) aligned with audience outcomes and objectives.
- Trialling and evaluating interpretive approaches for galleries and other visitor experiences.
- Experience working on multidisciplinary projects in collaborative and creative team environments;
- A deep understanding of museum interpretation and visitor advocacy, along with a proven track record of applying this knowledge effectively;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- A minimum of five years experience developing and delivering complex audience experiences in a museum or other environments;
- Possess a postgraduate or tertiary qualification in humanities, science, design, communication, education, museum studies or other relevant fields of study, or relevant work experience.
