Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada Position: Full Time Hours: 8 am – 4: 30 pm Job Description: Reporting to the VP of Engineering and Compliance, the Director of Quality and Safety is responsible for the overall implementation, operation and monitoring of Eagle’s Quality and Safety systems as they relate to Eagle’s business units. This is a key leadership position overseeing quality and safety activities across the Eagle brand. Responsibilities:
- Management of Eagle’s Quality and Safety teams throughout Eagle’s business divisions.
- Accountability for ensuring company compliance with all relevant regulatory and legal requirements.
- Delivering operational strategies to improve efficiency and aide in Eagle’s continued growth.
- Oversight of, and accountability for, Eagle’s Quality and Safety systems, as well as Eagle’s accreditations and related processes, including:
- Oversight of, and accountability for, Eagle’s Controlled Goods Program registration.
- Development, administration and enforcement of Eagle’s Quality Policy, Standards, Processes and Procedures.
- Development, administration and enforcement of Eagle’s Occupational Health and Safety Policy, Standards and Procedures.
- Development, Implementation and administration of a comprehensive Safety Management System
- (SMS).
- Development, Implementation and administration of an AS9100 Accredited Quality Management System (QMS).
- Continuous Improvement philosophy and practices for the above systems.
- Enforcement, Non‐Conformance, Audit and Surveillance programs for the above systems.
- Selection and implementation of Quality and Safety IT resources (i.E. required software applications / databases etc.).
- Accountability for Service Difficulty Reporting activities in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Oversight of MRO work and documentation as related to aircraft Quality Assurance.
- Accountability for Quality and Safety Training programs for all required Eagle staff.
- Liaison with department or business unit supervisors, managers, directors and executive to provide the necessary support to ensure the integrity of the Quality and Safety Systems.
- Generation and publishing of metrics related to Quality and Safety.
- Periodic reporting on Quality, Safety and the suitability and effectiveness of Eagle’s related systems to senior management and executive.
- Maintain proficiency with respect to the latest regulatory requirements and guidance.
- Participation in the TCCA CARAC process.
- Mentor direct reports and less experienced colleagues.
- Travel both domestically and internationally to Eagle business units, partners, vendors, etc. as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering or a related program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of related experience in a Quality Assurance / Safety role.
- Minimum of 5 years experience leading effective teams.
- Experience in QMS and Safety metrics.
- Experience with AS9100 or ISO9001.
- Experience with Audits and Corrective Action Plans.
- Excellent computer skills relating to Microsoft Office, ERP and Quality related software suites.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A positive and proactive attitude related to the support and improvement of Eagle Quality and Safety systems.
- An understanding of effective continuous improvement.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
- Experience with Canadian Aviation Regulations 561, 571 and 573 and equivalent foreign requirements.
- Experience with Safety Management Systems (SMS) for Maintenance and Manufacturing organizations.
- Part 27 or 29 Helicopter MRO and/or AMO experience.
- General aviation aircraft MRO and/or AMO experience.
- TCCA or equivalent Approved Manufacturer experience.
- Knowledge of statistical techniques and data analysis.
- Accreditation as a Certified Quality Manager or Engineer.
- Contemporary training in Safety Management Systems.
