DRIVE SYSTEMS ENGINEER - FIELD OPERATIONS AND APPLICATIONS Full Time, Permanent Delta, BC THE OPPORTUNITY: We are looking for a dynamic and technically proficient Drive Systems Engineer to take on a multifaceted role that blends field operations expertise with application engineering. This position focuses on Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and Soft Starters (SS) for Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) systems. Responsibilities include commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining VFD/SS systems, as well as supporting sizing, proposal development, and technical sales efforts. Success in this role requires excellent cross-functional collaboration skills and a commitment to providing exceptional support to both internal and external stakeholders. PERKS:

- Performing commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, repairs, and system upgrades for Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) and Soft Starter (SS) systems, including Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) applications at customer sites.
- Providing on-site technical support to efficiently diagnose and resolve issues, including working after hours, on weekends, and statutory holidays as required.
- Training customers on system operations, safety protocols, and maintenance best practices.
- Assessing customer applications and requirements to recommend tailored VFD and SS solutions.
- Evaluating and sizing VFDs, Soft Starters, and associated accessories for LV and MV systems.
- Preparing detailed technical proposals, incorporating system design, product selection, and cost estimation.
- Acting as a technical liaison for internal teams and external customers, ensuring satisfaction and successful project outcomes.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to address technical inquiries and deliver optimized solutions.
- Communicating project progress effectively with clients to align with project goals and organizational objectives.
- Managing time allocations effectively, meeting deadlines, and providing accurate time estimates for tasks.
- Recording work hours and comments in the timesheet program on time, adhering to management deadlines.
- Documenting service activities, including test results, troubleshooting steps, and customer feedback, to drive continuous improvement.
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.
- Experience with VFDs, Soft Starters, and motor control systems in LV and MV industrial applications.
- Strong knowledge of power electronics, motor control, and system integration.
- Hands-on experience in commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Excellent communication, technical writing, and customer service skills.
- Effective teamwork in cross-functional environments.
- Willingness to travel as required.
