Role Overview We are hiring a Volunteer Coordinator to lead the recruitment, engagement, and support of volunteers for our programs and events. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of building a vibrant volunteer network that helps us deliver impactful, inclusive, and memorable experiences. From recruiting and onboarding to training and managing involvement during events, you will act as the primary liaison for all things volunteer-related. We’re looking for a dynamic and people-focused individual who excels in relationship building, thrives in fast-paced environments, and is passionate about creating meaningful opportunities for others to contribute. Key Responsibilities

  • Volunteer Recruitment:
  • Develop and implement a recruitment strategy to attract volunteers locally, regionally, and nationally.
  • Create and share volunteer recruitment materials through diverse channels, including social media, email campaigns, and community outreach.
  • Build relationships with community organizations, schools, and other partners to source and grow our volunteer base.
  • Volunteer Training & Engagement:
  • Lead onboarding sessions and provide engaging training materials to prepare volunteers for their roles.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment that motivates and retains volunteers.
  • Communicate regularly with volunteers to provide updates, gather feedback, and recognize contributions.
  • Volunteer Management:
  • Maintain an organized database of volunteers, tracking skills, availability, and past involvement.
  • Schedule and assign volunteers for events and activations, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Act as the main point of contact for volunteers, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.
  • Event & Activation Support:
  • Coordinate volunteer logistics for events, ensuring all roles are filled and volunteers are well-supported.
  • Oversee on-site operations, providing guidance and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Collect feedback post-event to improve volunteer experiences.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in volunteer coordination, community engagement, event management, or a related field.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a knack for inspiring and engaging diverse groups.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while also excelling in a collaborative team environment.
  • Familiarity with volunteer management platforms or tools is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends for events.
  • Knowledge of accessibility and inclusion is highly desirable.
Contract Details
  • Duration: 4-5 months (with potential for renewal/extension)
  • Compensation: $24–$29 per hour
  • Start Date: As soon as possible
