This critical position will oversee the Year 7 to Year 10 sector within our P-10 campus. The Deputy Principal (Junior Secondary) will play an integral role in driving the educational vision, ensuring the academic success and wellbeing of students in these year levels. The position may also include a teaching component, providing opportunities for direct engagement with students and staff. About Richmond State School Established in 1889, Richmond State School is a co-educational facility offering a range and variety of learning experiences for students in Prep to Year 10. It caters for approximately 100 students from the rural community of Richmond, which is situated on the Flinders Highway approximately half way between Townsville and Mt Isa. About the Role Leadership and Management: Lead, mentor, and support teaching in the Junior Secondary sector to deliver high-quality educational experiences. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, setting high expectations for student outcomes and teacher effectiveness. Collaborate with the Principal and other senior leaders in strategic planning, school-wide initiatives, and policy development. Ensure the effective implementation of the school's pedagogical approach and curriculum delivery for Year 7 to Year 10 students. Lead PBL across the whole campus. Oversee student attendance, behaviour management, and discipline in line with school policies. Student Wellbeing and Development: Champion student wellbeing programs and initiatives that promote positive behaviour, mental health, and resilience among students. Monitor and support the academic, social, and emotional development of students, ensuring interventions are in place to address individual needs. Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, families, and community partners to enhance the student experience. Interested?
