About Distribution Center of Saint-Bruno The distribution center is located in Saint-Bruno and opened in 2024 in new premises. We are looking for a buyer to expand this brand new team and participate in the exciting project of starting a distribution center. The person who will join this position will initially be responsible for managing the purchasing for the distribution portion of Produits Neptune. Produits Neptune is a North American manufacturer and distributor of bathroom products with innovative designs and styles, respectful of sustainable development. The manufacturing plant is in Saint-Hyacinthe, and product distribution is now handled by Saint-Bruno. Job Description Reporting to the Director of the site, the Buyer-Planner, in the purchasing section, coordinates the procurement activities for imported products and ensures the availability of inventories necessary to properly serve our customers. Still in the purchasing section, they coordinate the procurement activities for raw materials and production supplies under their responsibility according to needs and in compliance with the company’s standards, policies, and values. In the planning section, the Buyer-Planner coordinates the production planning activities for the product lines under their responsibility, as well as certain activities related to the shipping of these products. Main Responsibilities
- Releases and follows up on orders with suppliers for products covered by previously negotiated global supply agreements. Executes the appropriate transactions to meet raw material needs based on exception messages in SAP and to avoid any stockouts.
- Analyzes, designs, and plans the daily production scheduling or order issuance to meet customer needs in a resource optimization context (capacity, delivery time, cost).
- Participates in the development of safety stock and reorder point (ROP) policies for finished products to meet sales programs and maximize the rotation of finished product inventory.
- Is responsible for the relationship with the suppliers assigned to them for everything related to the management of purchase orders, non-conformity monitoring, and supplier indicators. Collaborates with commodity managers and the quality team.
- Monitors inter-company product procurement processes in compliance with established policies and takes corrective measures with the various departments involved in satisfying customer requests.
- Performs tasks related to the shipping of certain products as needed.
- Maintains performance indicators related to their work and supplier evaluations. Initiates and participates in the development of action plans to improve results and costs.
- DEC in operations management or industrial management
- Any other relevant combination of education and experience related to the position.
- 3 years in a similar position.
- Bilingualism (the candidate will need to communicate with English-speaking suppliers).
- Computer skills (MS Office Suite, SAP is an asset).
- Knowledge of MRP and productivity/capacity management.
- Able to work under pressure and independently.
- Ability to work in a team and collaborate with other departments.
- Ability to adapt to change.
