Learn more about our Company and culture at: //parexresources.Com How do you fit in? As a Geomodeller, you will fully integrate all static and dynamic datasets for projects, to deliver required inputs and geologic context to Reservoir Modellers, in support of exploitation work for new and existing fields. What you will do:

  • Collaborate with the Exploitation Geoscience team and Geoscience Advisors to deliver high quality, reasonable quantity, fit-for-risk, and on-time static models and subsurface interpretations.
  • Support subsurface data integration and interpretation efforts to provide appropriate model inputs.
  • Develop modelling workflows to gain the necessary efficiency to generate multi-scenario models in a commercially appropriate time frame.
  • In conjunction with Exploitation Engineers, help ensure geologic information in the static model (key to realistic fluid flow) is preserved in the dynamic model.
  • Coordinate with a multi-functional team to design and implement data collection campaigns and field exploitation plans, for budget and planning approvals.
  • Interact regularly with Geoscience Advisors to ensure technical leadership and management receive all materials and contextual information required to support sound business decisions.
  • Ensure consistency of interpretations and modelling techniques across models and fields, to contribute to the growth and refinement of Parex’s subsurface characterization.
  • Perform fit-for-purpose uncertainty analysis to allow comparison of geomodel and probabilistic (e.G. RoseRA) volumetric results.
  • Define and present field development scenarios with economic and business support.
  • Integrate field development learnings to the regional understanding of play types and transfer new observations and ideas to the Exploration team.
What you must have:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, Geophysics, or Engineering.
  • 5 to 15 years of oil and gas development project technical experience.
  • In-depth understanding of petroleum and reservoir systems.
  • A proven track record in conventional asset optimization.
  • Experience with and knowledge of geostatistics and modelling algorithms.
  • Understanding of complex stratigraphic and structural concepts.
  • Petrel experience with knowledge of full workflow, from well and seismic data to functional geomodels.
  • Experience in leveraging pressure data to detect and map reservoir compartments.
  • Capacity to synthesize complex subsurface datasets into simple conceptual models.
  • A strong interest in trying new approaches and finding new modelling solutions.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical needs and timelines required to complete projects, effectively share ideas, and generate technically-sound and thoroughly documented presentations to facilitate field exploitation.
  • Background working in multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams.
Where you’ll be working: This position is located in our Corporate Headquarters at 2700 Eighth Ave Place, West Tower in Calgary, Alberta T2P 1G1, Canada.
