Don Julio, an authentic Mexican restaurant with recipes passed down through three generations, is searching for passionate, enthusiastic, dynamic, and proactive aspiring chefs worldwide to bring the flavors of Mexico to life while living a once-in-a-lifetime professional and cultural experience in the United States. RESPONSIBILITIES As a cook intern, your duties will include the following:
- Preparing all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
- Following recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications set by the restaurant.
- Restocking all items as needed throughout the shift.
- Cleaning and maintaining station while practicing exceptional safety, sanitation, and organizational skills.
- Understanding and knowing how to use and maintain all station equipment properly.
- Assisting with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen.
- Performing additional responsibilities as requested by the Chef or Kitchen Manager at any time.
- Preparing food: Meat, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and cold food items.
- Covering, dating, and correctly storing all food preparation items.
- Using food preparation tools following the manufacturer's instructions.
- Closing the kitchen correctly and following the closing protocol made per station.
- You’re between the ages of 18 to 35 years old.
- You’re a student of an accredited institution pursuing a degree in the field related to the job position.
- OR - You graduated less than 12 months ago from an accredited institution and received a degree in the field related to the job position.
- English Proficiency: Intermediate.
