Internship Program Overview The Polaris Operations- Supply Chain Internship program is a 12-week paid internship designed for emerging sophomores, juniors, and seniors interested in pursuing a career in the leading global powersports industry. As an Operations – Supply Chain intern, you will be given impactful project-based assignments that directly align with business objectives. These projects could include exposure to Supplier Development, Purchasing, Sourcing, Materials, Logistics, NPI and/or Lean, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality. Your assignments offer value-added deliverables that have a direct impact on developing new Polaris products. Internship assignments could include (but are not limited to):
- Working closely with Purchasing and Materials to manage quality, cost, delivery, and logistics.
- Forecasting cost, volume, compatibility, and quality of future packing methods.
- Optimizing utilization of assets used in material movement globally throughout the company.
- Facilitating improvement of global supplier metrics across the Polaris supply base.
- Assisting with supplier assessments, validating corrective actions, or negotiating prices.
- Analyzing and evaluating manufacturing methods and standards.
- Developing and updating process documentation and procedure instructions.
- Supporting lean initiatives.
- Identifying and implementing continuous improvement projects.
- Supporting manufacturing or product engineering teams with the resolution of top quality and warranty issues, applying advanced statistical analysis, problem-solving techniques, and quality tools.
- Mentorship – you are paired with one of our DP associates for mentor support throughout your 12 weeks.
- Intern Programming - weekly functional and centralized learning sessions to broaden your knowledge base, both within and beyond your program.
- Networking - you will have intentional time with peers and leaders at Polaris to build your professional network.
- Intern Innovation Challenge: throughout your 12 weeks, you will collaborate with fellow interns on a cross-functional team to develop and propose innovative solution(s) to an internal case study you and your team will present to our executive leadership.
- Early Talent Summit Super Week: participate in our 3-day event jam-packed with professional development, structured networking, a DP graduation event, executive speakers, and a team ride on some of your favorite Polaris vehicles.
- Community Engagement: you will be invited to volunteer alongside your fellow interns.
- Final Presentations: you will showcase your career aspirations and recap your internship experience during final presentations.
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Engineering Sciences, Operations, or related degree with an intended graduation date between December 2024-May 2027.
- Minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
- Able to complete a full 12-week commitment working 40 hours per week within the dates:
- May 19th – August 8th, 2025.
- June 2nd – August 22nd, 2025.
- Geographic willingness to partake in the intern matching process.
- Proven strength in the following: analysis and creative problem solving, communication, interpersonal relationships, self-motivation, and leadership.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software tools (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and Word).
- Previous Internship/Co-op experience.
- Previous leadership experience in work, organizations, or classroom.
- Completion of at least two years of university coursework.
