Due to continued success and growth, we are seeking a Project Development Manager to join our fast-paced team to play a pivotal role in developing new data center projects. This role is open to work from downtown Vancouver corporate office, or remotely within Canada and Texas, USA. Responsibilities: Reporting to the Senior Manager – Commercial, the Project Development Manager will be responsible for:
- Commercial negotiations and development activities for greenfield development projects, with a focus on securing land, permitting, site due diligence and grid connection activities
- Negotiating easements, land use agreements, and leases with landowners and stakeholders
- Negotiating power supply contracts and connection agreements for greenfield development projects
- Arranging and oversee site studies, including environmental impact assessments, soil testing, and geotechnical surveys
- Due diligence and commercial negotiations for new greenfield development opportunities and M&A activities
- Drafting, as required, relevant documents including management and board presentations, monthly and quarterly reports
- Evaluating different power markets with respect to power prices and grid connection opportunities
- Engaging with project stakeholders during the development phase, including landowners, transmission service operators, and local councils
- Occasional travel as required to undertake site visits project meetings, and stakeholder engagements
- 4-8 years’ project development experience in greenfield renewable, power generation, battery energy storage or data center data center development, with exposure to: Project finance and infrastructure funds management; Infrastructure valuations and infrastructure advisory; Financial modelling; Successful development and delivery of infrastructure or energy projects
- Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end project development, including site selection, due diligence, permitting and grid connection
- Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, permitting processes, grid connection processes, power procurement agreements (PPA)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Advance Microsoft Office skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Must have a university degree in either Finance, Business/Commerce, Economics or Engineering
- Construction experience would be seen as an asset
- Salary range: CAD $110,000-150,000, depending on experience and location
