Semarchy Support Data Engineer - C&M

Job Description

• Support feature development and system enhancements under the direction of Semarchy Lead Data Engineer (onshore)
• Debug and troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and diagnose production errors.
• Own ad-hoc / case-by-case solutioning and patch creation to deliver production issue resolutions.
• Perform ongoing maintenance activities to sustain underlying system tooling and integrations to external enterprise systems.
• Thoroughly test multi-technology integrations through unit testing, 1uthoring appropriate test
• scripts, and documenting edge cases.
• Author documentation of error resolution strategies and keep record of maintenance performed to ensure business continuity.
• Track system performance with respect to quality metrics and SLAs per business requirements.
• Propose discrete code quality improvements to strengthen system-wide observability and parameterization

Required Experience

• Expert in use of Git and GitHub for version control and collaboration as an active contributor on a software development team.
• Proficient on the command line (any shell, no preference) in Windows operating system.
• Demonstrated expertise in putting fundamental data modeling concepts into action (e.g.,
• dimensionality, cardinality, lineage and provenance, schemas, grain), either via professional or
• personal projects, formal education, or independent certification.
• SQL: individual contributor level (development, troubleshooting, and optimization)

- Refactoring existing queries into dimensional data models. - Expert in troubleshooting unexpected outcomes and edge cases of existing logic. - Experience benchmarking and optimizing query executions for both cost and performativity. - Writing net-new queries for production applications and ad-hoc investigations Python, individual contributor level (development and refactoring) - Emphasis on authoring/ extending testing suites, error handling, logging, and automation within existing systems. - Experience creating new data transformation work-flows within existing pipeline ecosystem (either ETL / ELT / streaming, preferred ELT) in adherence to formal data requirements.

• Significant project experience on refactors and migrations of data ecosystems and platforms
• Experience leveraging REST APls and web services in multi­ technology integrations
• Capable adherent to Agile software development practices
• Experience implementing data integration solutions bridging local and cloud data applications
• AWS (maintenance and extension)
• Hands-on experience working in the context of existing AWS infrastructure (e.g., S3, Glue,

Lambda, etc.) Desired:

• Professional or academic experience in the fields of banking, financial services, investment
• management, alternative assets, and/or other regulated pccialty industry such as energy or
• healthcare
• Experience delivering modern data stack approaches and best practices such as containerization,
• microservices, data lakes, data migrations, etc..
• AWS (enhancement): Hands-on experience working in the context of existing AWS activity enablement infrastructure such as CloudWatch, EventBridge, Simple Notification Service (SNS), Simple Queue Service (SQS).
• Experience automating Excel file wrangling, migrations from VBA Code to Python
• Participation in prior on-call rotations/ pager duty shifts for production outage response
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (laC) implementations (e.g., Terraform, CDK)
• Hands-on experience with transactional /streaming/ real-time data integrations at scale
• Capable user of Atlassian suite products (e.g., Jira) and/or other Kanban/ Agile productivity suite
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong management and the ability to work independently and as a team.
