As a System Developer you will play a crucial role in supporting our Senior Systems Developer. This position focuses on assisting with database management, business intelligence, systems integration, troubleshooting, and documentation. You will work collaboratively with various teams to ensure our technology systems' smooth operation and optimisation. The position is based at our office in Goring-on-Thames. Key Responsibilities: Database Support:
- Assist in the maintenance and optimisation of SQL Server databases.
- Support data integrity processes and manage backups under supervision.
- Help implement database security measures.
- Assist in developing Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Consolidate data from multiple sources to support comprehensive business insights.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to refine reporting requirements.
- Support the integration of Sage 200 and other business systems.
- Develop and maintain scripts and tools to enhance process automation.
- Assist in managing data platforms to support business operations.
- Respond to system issues and assist in resolving them promptly.
- Provide technical support to end-users, escalating issues where necessary.
- Conduct preliminary root cause analysis and propose preventative measures.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for systems and processes.
- Collaborate in developing best practices for system maintenance and development.
- Identify areas for efficiency improvements and propose solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or equivalent experience (graduates or juniors welcome).
- At least 1-2 years of experience or relevant internships in systems development or database management.
- Familiarity with SQL Server, including basic query development and troubleshooting.
- Exposure to business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Basic understanding of ERP systems like Sage 200 is a plus.
- Strong organisational and documentation skills.
- Problem-solving mindset and eagerness to learn.
- Foundational knowledge of SQL, T-SQL, or related programming languages.
- Basic familiarity with data visualisation tools such as Power BI.
- Understanding of system integration and automation concepts.
