Mechanical Services Engineer Port Elizabeth

Responsibilities:Maintain the plant and ensure that uptime is at a required standardControl maintenance costs according to the budgetPurchase spares and equipmentManage projectsLiaise with suppliersImplement all safety aspects within the plantInvestigate and make recommendations regarding improved performance of plant and machineryDemonstrate strong decision-making and problem-solving skills to improve operational efficiencyManage artisans with regard to performance and disciplineTrain and develop staffStand in for the Plant Engineer in his absence when requiredHandle all engineering aspects within the department, including planned, preventative, breakdown maintenance, and stock levels of spare partsInherent Job Requirements:Tolerance for stress and the ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlinesGood problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiativeAbility to work independentlyDesired Experience & QualificationEducational & Training Requirements:Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and/or trade-tested Mechanical FitterA certificate or diploma in supervisory management and/or a proven track record in a similar positionExperience Required:A minimum of 5 years in a similar positionHydraulic and pneumatic experienceMust be able to read CAD drawings
