Adelaide, South Australia 5000, Australia • Full-time Description The Opportunity: We are seeking a Project Engineer to assist our growing National Transport team in the design and delivery of a range of civil infrastructure projects. This role provides an opportunity to work on a range of road, highway and rail projects and contribute to the growth of the Transport team within Tonkin. Our ideal candidate would have 4+ years’ experience in civil engineering with a technical background in the design and documentation of transport infrastructure. Who You Are:

- The role is to be based at Tonkin’s head office in Adelaide however the candidate will work on projects throughout Australia, predominately South Australia, Queensland, NSW and Victoria.
- Relevant qualifications : Associate Degree in Engineering
- 4+ years of professional experience on a range of small and large projects in the transport and infrastructure sector, within a consulting environment.
- Technical experience in a range of civil engineering disciplines which may include road design, rail infrastructure design, stormwater, Geotech & pavement and utility services.
- Experience with relevant Australian Standards and Industry Design Guides (e.g. Austroads Guide to Road Design).
- An understanding of the Department for Infrastructure & Transport’s (DIT) design process and Master Specification parts.
- Strong ability to communicate complex engineering concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
- Efficient multi-tasker with a fundamental understanding of project delivery processes.
- Experience in project management, including management of a small team.
- Experience in client facing roles.
- Recent experience delivering projects for the SA Department for Infrastructure & Transport.
- Experience in the design and documentation of Rail projects.
- Develop and apply your technical expertise on a range of projects, ensuring compliance with all applicable standards and regulations.
- Support Project Leaders and Project Directors in the delivery of large infrastructure projects.
- Lead a team of nominally 2-5 people in the delivery of routine projects with a single client and some subconsultant input.
- Provide inputs to other engineers and drafters in producing high-quality deliverables.
- Collaborate seamlessly with other disciplines to ensure project coordination.
- Deliver well-documented designs, including reports, Technical Memos and Tender Advice Notices meeting Tonkin's and client standards.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers within the team, fostering their technical growth and stay abreast of the latest advancements in design and construction technologies.
- Completing Tonkin’s internal Project Leader training and commence managing your own projects under the guidance of senior team members.
- Preparing project proposals including an understanding of technical requirements, delivery risk and pricing.
- Developing client relationships.
- Gaining Chartered Professional Engineer status with Engineers Australia or other appropriate agency.
