The Role Our team is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented quality assurance practice lead, who can champion quality for us while working alongside other QA engineers to improve our testing practices. This is an opportunity to bring your experience to large-scale, integrated systems and innovate in the freight and logistics space to deliver world-class solutions for Freightways and be a key part of delivering a completely tested solution. Liaising with stakeholders at all levels of the corporation, external testing partners, and end users, you’ll find yourself turning “test speak” into English.- Planning of deployment test cycles (Functional/non-functional, system integration, and business assurance testing).
- Applying appropriate testing approaches to ensure business outcomes including:
- Hands-on end-to-end user testing.
- Automated test scenarios.
- Working with your team to build a culture of continuous improvement.
- Mentoring and training team members to encourage a collaborative workspace for your peers to excel.
- Giving and receiving honest constructive feedback.
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable discussing ideas with teammates, stakeholders, and customers – we need your strong voice of quality in our teams.
- Ability to be pragmatic and identify the appropriate level of testing.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL.
- Understanding of continuous integration and deployment practices.
- Experience monitoring scalable platforms using New Relic or a similar tool.
- Familiarity with Test-Driven/Behaviour-Driven Development.
- Significant knowledge and understanding of the Scrum framework and Agile principles.
- Proven hands-on experience with:
- Test management tools such as Azure Test Manager.
- Software quality assurance processes.
- API testing experience and best practices, Postman/Swagger.
- Automated testing experience, SpecFlow, Playwright, or similar.
