Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will have ownership of the accounts receivable function, ensuring timely collections from customers and delivering proactive, efficient and insightful accounts receivable reporting.
- Follow up on and collect payments, ensuring compliance with financial policies.
- Process financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording data (including discounts).
- Handle cash sales, create customer invoices, process payments, and release orders.
- Reconcile customer accounts to ensure payments are properly allocated.
- Work with clients on overdue accounts, developing payment plans when necessary.
- Ensure all billing, collections, and reporting activities meet deadlines.
- Assist with bad debt management, flagging accounts for recovery and reporting doubtful debts.
- Review scheduled rebate payments and assess customer accounts for overdue balances.
- Prepare new customer account applications and updates to existing accounts.
- Process claims, investigations, and assist with month-end closing and reconciliations.
- Previous experience in a similar role or within an accounts receivable or customer service environment is desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing financial data.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with customers.
- A good understanding of accounts receivable functions and financial reporting.
- Experience using CRM and financial software systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proven problem-solving skills, especially in managing customer accounts and payment issues.
- A proactive approach to resolving queries and ensuring timely payment processing.
- Sound decision making and time management skills.
