Job FamilyAsset Management and Marine OperationsContract TypeDirectLocationBusiness LineAsset Management and Capital ProjectsDepartmentMaintenanceClosing Date31-Aug-2024The Heavy Equipment Maintenance Foreman is responsible for safely, timely, and cost-effectively leading the performance of all shipyard-related equipment maintenance and day-to-day activities as per the asset management plans to achieve asset management objectives and thereby achieve IMI strategic objectives.Key AccountabilitiesManage and perform fault diagnosis, repairs to all types of shipyard heavy material handling and mobile lifting equipment, such as crawler cranes (100 - 1000T), mobile cranes, SPMTs, trailers, transporters, forklifts (fuel/electrical driven), spider cranes, manlifts/cherry pickers, service trucks, and fuel trucks in a safe, timely, and professional manner.Perform preventive, predictive, condition-based, and breakdown equipment maintenance of the assigned shipyard equipment in a professional and diligent manner.Demonstrate a high understanding and troubleshooting skills of shipyard equipment related to heavy material handling and mobile lifting equipment.Lead maintenance teams to perform asset management activities safely and environmentally friendly with zero tolerance in the assigned areas/zones of work.Provide cost-effective techniques and solutions to attain desired equipment availability and reliability with no compromise on safety and maintainability.Understand, observe, and support the implementation of ISO 55001 Asset Management System.Data logging, updating of work completions and work orders (preventive/breakdown checklists) in ERP system as guided by the maintenance supervisor/superintendent.Ensure that maintenance contractors are utilized efficiently, cost-effectively, and in accordance with company procedures.Inspect and test the completed works to ensure safe operation of equipment to user department before handover.Lead activities to move, install, mothball, and reposition of assets.Communicate with maintenance supervisors and zone superintendents about the status-quo of equipment and opportunities for improvements.Identify spares requirements and monitor their utilization.Work within 5S (Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) methodology to maintain workplace to a high standard.Be a part of the project team to lead critical activities like installations, pre-commissioning, commissioning, transition/handover, mothballing, and repositioning of shipyard assets.Execute recommended activities, such as retro-fixing and major overhauls in improving asset values as allocated by management.Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively to provide quality seamless customer service.Ensure all tools, accessories, and test equipment are kept clean and serviceable, and advise line supervisor of critical spare parts and consumables requirements.Follow up and execute FRACAS recommendations assigned to the zone assets.Contribute to continuous improvement activities aligning with maintenance strategies and plans.Promote a "can-do" team spirit creating a culture of high standards, work ethic, and job satisfaction within the department.Train and impart demonstrable asset maintenance knowledge to co-workers and apprentices and enhance their skills.QualificationsTechnical Diploma in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering or equivalent.ExperienceMinimum of 12-15 years of practical experience related to shipyard assets such as heavy material handling and mobile lifting equipment, industrial hydraulic systems/machinery, etc. Previous experience in shipyards or similar facilities is a must. Strong and adept knowledge of different shipyard heavy material handling and mobile lifting equipment maintenance, repairs, and upgrades. Excellent knowledge on industrial hydraulic systems troubleshooting and maintenance strategies.
