ANIMAL ATTENDANT/DOG HANDLER
THE HAPPY PUP is the provider of outdoor day care, grooming and animal training services, operating out of our 59-61 Gymea Bay Road Gymea 2227 facilities in NSW. The quality and commitment of our staff is our greatest strength. Our staff are chosen for their professional attributes and love of animals.We provide high quality care to well-loved family dogs and cats, providing them with enjoyable and enriching experiences of socialisation with individual attention to any training and behavioural needs they may require.
PRIMARY ROLE
Enjoyable and varied work – outdoor activities, animal training, animal care, grooming/maintenance and some transport duties.- Routine animal care tasks that may require feeding, exercising, monitoring the health of animals, photography and safe transport where needed.
- Animal attendant to address issues of dog behaviour such as dog distress, barking or matters of dog safety
- Customer service as required including phone enquiries and taking bookings
- Animal training to provide dog training services to pet owners
- Grooming to provide basic grooming of dogs in care when required
- Availability must be available to work across a variable seven day roster, including school holidays and public holidays.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to work in a team and independently
- Confident dog handling skills, able to read body language and communicate animal behaviour
- Dog Training experience, able to teach basic commands and work with owners on any behavioural issues their dog may have
- Vet nursing experience is desired
- AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3) or 3-5 years of relevant experience
SALARY
- $70K - $80k pa
- 4 Weeks paid annual leave
- Superannuation and sick leave
- 38 hours per week
