Electrical and Instrumentation Project Supervisor
The role of E&I Supervisor is to support the E&I Executive in managing the plant maintenance and assist in working with suppliers to ensure E&I spares through an effective inventory system. The E&I Supervisor is expected to plan for preventive maintenance to ensure plant reliability and assist in project design, construction, and commissioning in the respective area. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to lead a team are essential. Reporting to: Electrical ExecutiveKey Responsibilities
- Support the goals and programs established by management to improve plant maintenance and plant improvement.
- Assist E&I Executive with overall plant repair and maintenance of plant equipment.
- Responsible for the efficient running of the workshop and engineering stores.
- Assist E&I Executive in liaising with third-party contractors on major works carried out in the plant.
- Assist E&I Executive in planning for annual shutdown, electrical and instrument calibration, and repair works of plant equipment.
- Assist E&I Executive with electrical and instrument spares order, reorder, and stock control, maintaining proper inventory in the SAP system.
- Set up proper documentation and records of preventive maintenance and repair jobs in the SAP system.
- Maintain plant electrical panels and machines with proper labels for incoming sources and update records for all new circuit control drawings, breakers, protections, and control systems as needed.
- Ensure all Work Orders, permits to work, and LOTO systems are completed, signed off, and handed back to production before off duty. Proper updates in the SAP system and filing of records are required.
- Ensure plant spare motors records are updated monthly and available for immediate replacement.
- Carry out testing of generator sets, sprinkler, and hydrant diesel pumps every weekend with proper records.
- Provide guidance to technicians on proper maintenance and repair jobs.
- Provide training to technicians and process operators.
- Ensure safety, GMP, and good housekeeping in workshops and plants.
- Responsible for technician discipline, overtime, work arrangement, and ensuring full support for production.
- Ensure good housekeeping and safety practices are carried out, including the ‘Permit to Work System’.
- Assist in the implementation of ISO9001, ISO14001, FSSC22000, HACCP, AIB, GMP, SHE, and 5S systems in the factory.
- Be available for breakdown calls at all times.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications and Skills
The E&I Supervisor should possess an A1 or A4 chargeman certificate from Suruhanjaya Tenaga. Preferably have a minimum of five (5) years working experience in the oleo-chemical/chemical process industry. Strong analytical and problem-solving attitude with excellent communication skills. Experience in maintaining boilers, chillers, and vacuum systems. Experience in calibration and troubleshooting of all plant instrumentation. Project experience in design, construction, and commissioning.- Ability to express ideas effectively in both individual and group situations and organize ideas clearly in written documents.
- Demonstrate general knowledge of Microsoft Office basics and be well-versed with common related software.
- Independent, resourceful, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.
