Job Description: Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Civil Inspector (with Roads & Utilities, Traffic Management, and Infrastructure work experience) to join our team here in UAE. In this role, you will perform continuous surveillance of assigned inspection activities to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and specifications. What You'll Be Doing:
- Conduct inspections to determine if work has been done in accordance with contract specifications, which may include:
- Demolition of transportation facilities (roads, streets, etc.)
- Construction of roads and other associated improvements (curb and gutter, street, sidewalk, landscaping)
- Drainage work, traffic control, compliance with SWPPP requirements
- Irrigation and planting, roadway and overhead sign removal and installation
- Installation of temporary and permanent signs and delineation
- Taking project photographs daily and filing them
- Maintaining office files related to the project, quantity calculations, and writing daily diaries
- Preparing daily reports and other documentation as required by the contract
- Performing labor compliance interviews and maintaining as-built plans
- Coordinating the work of subconsultants for surveying and material testing
- Recognizing potential conflicts, issues, and problems, and reporting to the supervisor with proposed solutions
- Collecting, reviewing, and filing Certificates of Compliance, MSDS, inspection tags, and other information relevant to the materials used
- Participating in the development of job safety practices and the preparation of safety reports
- Participating in the development of quality control reports and procedures
- Reporting on installed quantities to verify applications for payment and change order work
- Responding to call backs in case of emergency at the project site
- Performing other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate
- Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering or a construction-related field is required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in construction supervision of Roads & Utilities, Traffic Management, and infrastructure projects
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction-related processes related to the area of assignment
- Preferably with related work experience in Dubai, UAE, or GCC in an engineering consulting firm
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate logically and clearly with management and staff
